Today’s catch is three places nobody designed for visitors. One burned limestone for sixty-six years and is now a free, signposted walk through its own ruins. One is just the hill at the end of a residential street, and you earn the view up five minutes of stairs. And one is a Hong Kong housing estate so astonishing from the inside that the people who live there have had to post notices asking photographers to stop coming in — which makes it the clearest case of the three: a place can be worth knowing about without being yours to walk into.
