Site-specific works are installed along woodland paths south of Darmstadt and left there — no entrance, no velvet rope, just a trail with things on it. The trail has run every two years since 2002, with a new theme and a new set of artists each edition, and because many pieces stay behind afterwards, it keeps thickening between editions. The best of them are integrated well enough that you file them as forest until you look twice.
