The registers, torn paper and falling coins that open “Money” were tape loops Roger Waters spliced together by hand in 1972. Drummer Sina Doering and her band play them instead: a bowl of loose change, a toy register, a money counter, and one sheet of paper torn exactly on the beat. They did it at Abbey Road, in the building where The Dark Side of the Moon was recorded.
