Martin O’Donnell wrote the Halo theme as monastic chant, so the vocalists of Munx Gregoriana sang it back as one — a cappella, no instruments, standing inside a decommissioned oil tank in Helsinki. The tank does the thing no plugin quite does: a decay long enough that the baritone entry lands on top of its own echo, which is exactly what the piece was always pretending to have.
