The Louvre’s Apollo Gallery reopened on 22 July 2026, nine months after the 19 October 2025 heist took eight pieces valued at roughly €88 million. It reopened with no jewels in it at all: the surviving Crown Jewels, the Regent diamond included, were moved to a windowless vault and the cases replaced with 28 Gobelins tapestry portraits. What is left on view is the 1661 room itself.
