Seven color-coded notes from Panic, on Mac and iPhone. There are exactly seven slots — never an eighth — synced through iCloud. The constraint is the entire product.

The dots span red to violet and live across the top of the editor as well as in the menu bar. You assign your own meaning to each — one for the day’s todos, one for whatever you’re drafting, one for clipboard staging — and the mapping lives in your head, not in a settings panel. When a slot fills up, you triage; the constraint forces it.

Markdown support is intentionally minimal: bold, italic, code, lists, headers. The editor comes from the studio behind Nova, Coda, and the Playdate — taste shows up in cursor placement, keyboard shortcuts, and how the app handles iCloud conflicts. Mac one-time purchase; iOS free.
