Print Graph Paper

57 kinds of paper, from Smith charts to genkō yōshi, printed at true scale

The Print Graph Paper generator with Wulff net selected: a sidebar listing the ten maths and science papers, from coordinate grid to Smith chart, an A4 sheet previewed in the middle with a stereographic net of great and small circles, and settings for paper size and orientation beside Print, PNG, SVG and Download PDF buttons.

Print Graph Paper draws 57 kinds of ruled sheet in your browser, from plain 5 mm squares to a Wulff net for crystallographers, and hands them over as vector PDFs whose grids measure true against a ruler. No account, no watermark, no download cap.

Most graph-paper sites stop at squares and dots. This one files its 57 sheets onto five shelves, from everyday grids to craft patterns, and each explains why it exists. The probability sheet spaces its vertical axis by the probit, so a normal sample plots as a straight line and heavy tails curl up at both ends. The genkō yōshi is anchored to the right edge, because the columns are read right to left, with a furigana gutter you can set to zero. Séyès ruling puts a strong line every 8 mm and three faint ones between, which tells a French schoolchild that a d rises three bands and an l four.

The craft sheets are just as exact. The cross-stitch grid is derived from the Aida count rather than a round millimetre figure, so 70 squares on 14-count fabric finish at exactly five inches. The Go board comes in 9, 13 and 19 lines, with the star points moved in to the third line on the small boards, and its coordinates skip the letter I, as Go notation does.

We checked the scale claim. The A4 square-grid download is a vector PDF whose page measures 595.28 × 841.89 points, A4 to the hundredth, with lines 14.17 points apart: 5 mm. Spacing runs from 1 mm to 2 inches across six page sizes plus custom, with line colour and weight, margins down to none, and multi-page PDFs of up to 100 sheets with page numbers. The one thing it can’t fix is your print dialog: choose Actual size, because Fit to page quietly turns a 5 mm grid into 4.8.

Every sheet is generated on your own device, so nothing is uploaded, and the site says the generator keeps working if your connection drops. What you print is yours for paid work, with no attribution. The site runs in 25 languages. Two honest notes: the maker is anonymous, known only by a Hacker News handle, and the terms disclose Google Analytics and AdSense, though no ads appeared on our visits.
