A Rubik’s Cube has 43,252,003,274,489,856,000 reachable states. Every one of them gets a number here, and the numbers get a ruler you can drag.

The move that makes this work is deciding that the set has an order. Once every permutation has an index, “all the cube states” stops being a fact you nod at and becomes a line with two ends, ticked at 1, 1.1×10¹⁹, 2.2×10¹⁹, 3.2×10¹⁹ and 4.3×10¹⁹. You drag along it and the cube on screen keeps up, colours reshuffling as the number climbs. It is the difference between being told a quantity and being handed it.

The controls are better thought out than the premise strictly requires. There is a 2D/3D toggle, so you can watch the flat net or the rotating solid. Scrolling steps the index, and you choose the notch size — 1, 500, 1,000 or 5,000 permutations per scroll — which turns the same interface into either a microscope or a shovel. An FX toggle animates the transition properly, with pieces arcing to their new positions instead of snapping. And you can type cube notation straight in: enter R U R' U' and it jumps to that scramble’s index, which quietly makes the whole thing a lookup table for anyone who speaks the notation.

Best of all, the famous patterns are marked on the ruler itself. Superflip and Checkerboard sit as little amber pins on the bar, so the positions every cuber knows by name have coordinates, and you can jump to them and then scrub away and watch how immediately the structure dissolves.

One honest limitation, and it is inherent rather than sloppy. The drag control is a slider with a million stops spread across 4.3×10¹⁹ states, so a single pixel of drag skips something like forty trillion permutations. You are sampling the space, not touring it — which is the only thing a slider could ever do here, and the scroll notches exist precisely so you can step one at a time when you want exactness. Worth knowing before you go looking for a specific state by dragging.

It is free, it opens in a tab, and it is one person’s project — Alen’s, with the source on GitHub — which is usually where ideas in this register come from. There is nothing to learn and nothing to beat. You drag, the number gets absurd, and somewhere around 2×10¹⁹ the scale stops being a word and starts being a feeling.
