Voracity

Veracity's one-letter twin asks whether there's more, not whether it's true

Voracity — an excessive desire to eat or consume something — comes from Latin vorare (to devour), with earliest documented use in 1526. It closes the “A change of character: Act II” week as the one-letter twin of last week’s veracity: that word asks “Is it true?”, this one asks “Is there more?” The art is Gillray’s 1805 The Plumb-Pudding in Danger, Pitt and Napoleon carving up the globe.
