Torre Da Bora is a real defensive tower from the Middle Ages, restored with enough care that the Italian Institute of Castles formally recognised the work, and now rentable as a multi-level home in Magliano di Tenna in Italy’s Marche region. The top of the tower gives you 360° lines of sight: the Sibillini Mountains, the Laga Mountains, and the Adriatic. The interiors layer modern comforts onto the original stonework without trying to disguise either, which is rarer than it sounds.
