Wedged behind Lahore’s Grand Trunk Road and a working rail line, this 1671 mausoleum honors Dai Anga, wet-nurse to Emperor Shah Jahan — a woman close enough to power to commission tilework this fine, yet obscure enough that most visitors to Lahore never hear her name. The glazed floral mosaics on the exterior rival the far more famous Mughal sites a few miles away, minus the crowds.
