Hungarian photographer Szilveszter Makó’s portraits are instantly identifiable by one recurring device: a box. Subjects are confined in cubic sets, arranged on checkerboard floors, or crowned with house-shaped headpieces, shot in muted earth tones with visible film grain. Three Vogue editions have put a Makó-shot celebrity on the cover since August 2026 alone — enough repetition that online audiences have started calling it out as “this guy again.”
