Andy Baio coined “supercut” in 2008 and has spent years cataloguing the genre: 592 montages built from one recurring word, gesture, or trope stitched across dozens of sources. The prize find is every “humbug” from 32 different film versions of A Christmas Carol, one Scrooge after another. The archive was redesigned in July 2026 with real search and browsing, after sitting mostly static since 2011.
