Suns Cinema, a small independent theater in DC’s Mount Pleasant neighborhood, treats its own walls as a screening. The lobby runs zebra print in homage to The Royal Tenenbaums, a hallway carpet echoes the dizzying geometry of The Shining, and the bathroom wallpaper is covered in flamingos for John Waters’s Pink Flamingos. Every surface is a footnote to a movie somebody there loves.
