Statue of Žorik

A bronze for Kalamaja's street dog, in Tallinn

Žorik was a black-and-white stray who worked the Kalamaja district of Tallinn for years, loved by Russian-speaking pensioners and young Estonians alike. Sculptor Kain Rezev cast him in bronze with a small cat at his feet, paid for by 61 donors and unveiled outside the Arsenal Centre on World Animal Day, 4 October 2020. It is a memorial to him and to all street animals.
