A Gambier man saw photos of Claude Cormier’s dog fountain in Toronto’s Berczy Park, liked it enough to drive up with his wife and their golden retriever to meet the landscape architect, then brought the idea home to Ohio. Mount Vernon’s version is a crowd of painted cast-aluminum dogs spraying at a golden bone, supervised by a pony, two pairs of birds, one inexplicable apple, and a cat perched out of the spray.
