Plug a MIDI keyboard into an iPhone, play a bar, stop, and the model carries on in your direction at about 108 notes per second — all on the phone. Simon Edwardsson’s write-up is the better half: fourteen experiments, and the finding that the gains came from how the notes were represented and how hard the training data was scrubbed, not from more parameters. The app is free; you supply the keyboard.
