Three-Toed Sloth Costume

Berlin prop-maker Karoline Hinz builds the sloth in three separable pieces: a padded undersuit for shape, a full fur bodysuit with movable extended claw-gloves over it, and a separate head. The face is sculpted first, then cast in silicone with hair punched in by hand and glass eyes set into the mold, while the claws are cast in semi-rigid, translucent polyurethane so they hold an edge without snapping. It’s a one-off studio piece from 2018, not a retail costume, and it still circulates as one of her most-shared builds.
