Phosphene puts your own videos in System Settings, Wallpaper, right beside Apple’s Aerials, using the same pipeline, so macOS keeps playing them on the desktop and lock screen even after you quit the app. You can pick a different video per display or Space, and playback pauses under covered desktops and eases off on battery. Free and MIT-licensed; it needs macOS 26 and relies on private Apple APIs.
