DeMarco and Lister's classic on why software teams really succeed or fail

Peopleware was published in 1987 and is still the book most software managers should read first. DeMarco and Lister’s thesis: software projects fail for human reasons (interruptions, mediocre offices, layered management) much more than technical ones, and most “productivity tools” are theatre. Cool Tools’ note: an evergreen that the current AI-management wave hasn’t dated.
