Paine House Museum

A Coventry, Rhode Island house that grew from a 1691 core into a colonial tavern

Paine House Museum

The oldest part of this house at 7 Station Street may date to 1691; it was enlarged around 1748 and licensed as a tavern in 1785. The Paine family’s descendants gave it to the Western Rhode Island Civic Historical Society, which furnishes it as a colonial home and keeps a loom exhibit inside. The society’s site lists Friday and Saturday openings, so check before going.
