Mycorrhizal Infrastructure Map

An interactive map predicting how dense Earth's underground fungal networks are, anywhere on land

Beneath almost every forest and field runs a mycorrhizal network: fungal threads that trade carbon, nutrients, and water between plants that never touch. This map, built by the Society for the Protection of Underground Networks, predicts how dense that network is at any point on land, turning an invisible, planet-spanning exchange into something you can actually point at.
