In 2010 a dig in the courtyard of this colonial mansion found the remains of at least three people from more than 2,000 years ago — among them a woman of about 60, buried with an offering dated some 3,500 years back. She lived there fifteen centuries before Puebla was founded. The ground-floor museum built around the find keeps her on display alongside a donated private collection whose own story only surfaced when its owner gave it away.
