The premise is the find: “somehow you can get a 4G modem with WiFi, bluetooth, a display, fully battery powered and completely unlocked — for less than $20 shipped.” Kovac reflashes one, adds a Clicks iPhone keyboard and a Sharp memory display, and designs an adapter board for USB host-mode power, mode switching and signal-level conversion — then cuts the board down by hand to fit the case. The display’s device tree was extracted from the stock Android firmware.
