The Map of Steam plots roughly 80,000 games — every release with at least ten reviews — as dots on one zoomable canvas, positioned by design similarity rather than genre. That distance comes from SteamMaho’s own mechanics taxonomy blended with community tags, and each of the map’s 90 regions is auto-named after its cluster’s most distinctive mechanic-and-tag combination. Drag the year slider back to 1997 and watch the map grow release by release. Still labeled beta, and games with only generic tags drift into an unlabeled edge cluster.
