A labor-of-love site by a single collector who photographs sand samples from beaches all over the world at high magnification. What looks like a uniform tan blanket from a meter up turns out, in the microscope, to be a constantly varying mix of crushed quartz, pulverized shells, volcanic glass, and tiny fossils — every beach has a different signature, and the gallery makes that legible.
