Lucy Sparrow: The Beginning of Convenience

A 1980s supermarket with every item sewn from felt

Lucy Sparrow: The Beginning of Convenience

More than 20,000 hand-stitched felt replicas — cereal boxes, shampoo, frozen dinners — shelved into a walk-in 1980s-90s supermarket at the Momentary in Bentonville. Sparrow researches the archival packaging first, so what you are looking at is a specific decade rather than general nostalgia. It is her first museum show in the United States, no ticket required, and it runs until 11 July 2027.
