A tiling desktop, a real terminal and Firefox run on the iPad itself, with no remote machine and no jailbreak. It is sideloaded rather than on the App Store, needs an M1 iPad or newer on iPadOS 17, and the install takes a Mac, Windows or Linux computer once. The developer calls it pre-release, and free Apple IDs mean refreshing the app every seven days.
