Dalton Trumbo wrote for hours at a stretch in the bath, and the bronze his hometown put up commemorates precisely that — the screenwriter at work in a tub. He grew up in Grand Junction, reported for the local paper, went on to two Academy Awards, and was blacklisted after refusing to testify before the House Un-American Activities Committee. It was the first in a series honouring the city’s own.
