The Canaries sell themselves on beaches, and then San Sebastián turns out to have a working church that started as a chapel in the early fifteenth century and was extended for three hundred years afterwards. The wooden ceilings and altarpieces are the reason to go in. Columbus is said to have stopped here on his way west, which is the sort of claim the building is old enough to carry.
