In the mountain forest of Vinh Son, Vietnam, a stream drops about 30 metres over a cliff of hundreds of interlocking polygonal basalt columns — a natural stone honeycomb hung over the ravine. Tucked behind the curtain of water is a stone vault full of bats, which gives the fall its local name, Bat Waterfall. It is still largely off the tourist circuit.
