Everyone climbing through Skaftafell is aiming at Svartifoss and its basalt columns, which means Hundafoss gets treated as scenery on the way. It drops through Bæjargil into a narrow, steep-sided gorge that’s green to the lip, and the uphill approach puts you level with the fall rather than beneath it. Smaller than the headline act, and quieter for exactly that reason.
