Every translation you have read is a decision about meaning. This is a decision about sound: reconstructions that restore the pitch accent and the quantitative metre, and then sing the lines rather than recite them. What comes out is nothing like the stately English blank verse the poem usually arrives in. It moves on syllable length instead of stress, closer to chant than to speech, and considerably stranger than the page lets on.
