Henry Hobson Richardson, the architect who gave America Trinity Church in Boston, built only one house for his own family: this Stick-style residence on the corner of McClean and Lily Pond Avenues in Staten Island. He lived there just five years, 1869 to 1874, before moving to Massachusetts to supervise Trinity’s construction. It’s a doctor’s office now, landmarked since 2004, hemmed in by traffic.
