Permanent Style’s hand-loomed madras sold out twice last year, within a week each time, so it’s back — restocked in greater volume, with two new colourways alongside the original. The cotton is hand-woven in Chennai by the Original Madras Trading Company, then made into shirts in Naples with hand-attached collars and hand-sewn buttonholes. The irregular weave barely needs ironing and only fades after many washes, like a good pair of jeans.
