“Alice doesn’t live in the restaurant, she lives in the church nearby” — and this is the church: the 1829 former Trinity Church in Great Barrington where Alice and Ray Brock lived. Arlo Guthrie bought it in 1991 and made it an interfaith centre and folk venue, with summer concerts and monthly open-mic hootenannies. It’s open business hours; ask, and you can go upstairs to the instruments, stained glass and the foot of the bell-tower stair.
