Godzilla Museum, Nijigen no Mori

The world's first permanent Godzilla museum, bolted onto a zipline through its mouth

Godzilla Museum, Nijigen no Mori

Nijigen no Mori, a theme park on Awaji Island about 30 minutes from Kobe by highway bus over the Akashi Kaikyo Bridge, houses what it calls the world’s first permanent Godzilla museum — display cases of film props, models, and dioramas spanning the franchise. It’s one piece of the larger Godzilla Interception Operation, whose separate zipline sends riders into the mouth of a nearly 400-foot Godzilla sculpture. The museum needs the Gold ticket (from 4,800 yen); the zipline alone comes with the base Light ticket.
