An 18-year adaptive-reuse project stitching together a 16th-century Franciscan cloister — a quiet courtyard shaded by four banyan trees over a century old — the former Club Cartagena with its monumental split staircase now under a glass roof, and a spa carved into the monks’ food-preparation vaults. The glass atrium lets moonlight pattern the marble floors at night, and the hotel sits in Getsemaní rather than the tourist core.
