The current euro notes show invented bridges and windows, carefully belonging to nowhere so they could belong to everyone. The ten shortlisted replacements, A through J, mostly give that up: a wallcreeper crossing a mountain range, rivers drawn as contour lines, named faces from European culture. Every proposal is published front and back at every denomination, and the ECB’s survey is open — you can say which one you want in your pocket.
