Envy collapses the usual four controls — search field, new-note button, sidebar, filter — into one box: type, and it finds the note or makes it. Underneath there is no database, just plain .md files sitting in a folder on your disk, readable by anything. No account, no sync service, no subscription, so the exit path is opening the folder in some other app.
