Suzanne and Christopher Sharp, who founded The Rug Company, spent seven years turning a 1715 Baroque country residence in Attard into seventeen rooms. Suzanne grew up on the island, and it shows in what was kept rather than replaced: frescoed ceilings, golden limestone, local antiques set against Sicilian marble and Murano glass. The pool is cut to a lobed Baroque outline and walled in by palms and jasmine.
