Dominic “Cano” Espinoza began with a potato cellar and a steam room in 1980, then kept building for about twenty years with whatever materials turned up. The towers are stone, wrapped in scrap metal and hundreds of cut-off aluminium can bottoms, lit at night while strings of bottles clink in the wind. He says the visitors are what keep him going, so stop at East 10th Avenue and State Street.
