The Buna arrives at the Neretva through a limestone channel barely wider than the water, and the colour change is the whole event — emerald forced into grey-green, currents folding over each other on the way out. It is a few minutes from Mostar, which is where everyone else is. Blagaj and the Old Bridge are on every Herzegovina itinerary; the gorge between them is on almost none.
