Rock climbing in Athens

Athens has rocky outcrops scattered through the city — Filopappou Hill, Lycabettus, the lesser hills around the Acropolis — that lock have always been used for sunset-watching. A bouldering scene has grown up using the same outcrops, with new graded routes maintained by local clubs and visible from the Parthenon. A side trip for the climber, a curiosity for the tourist.
