Andrew's Honey Shop

An Upper West Side honey shop with a working beehive in the front window

Andrew Coté is a fourth-generation beekeeper and the founder of the NYC Beekeepers Association, and his shop at 75th and Columbus is where the city’s beekeepers come every spring for the live-bee distribution he’s run for twenty years. The front window holds active hives, glass-fronted, so the storefront doubles as a free pocket natural-history museum — exactly the kind of small, specific, in-business curiosity New York is supposed to still have. The shop sells local honey from his Connecticut and rooftop hives in 8oz bears up to one-gallon jugs.
